Frame construction
Wood material
Our light wood bikes have a dark wood middle layer. We use two contrasting woods, the main ash wood and darker exotic or walnut wood elements. Sylvanoo wooden frames combine beautiful simplicity, but with advanced technologies of joining wood with composite materials (carbon and aramid fibers – carbon and kevlar). Wood perfectly dampens vibrations (comparative data is included in the table), therefore riding on such a bike is extremely pleasant and no other material is able to compete with it.
Painting cover
The frames are covered with 10 layers of a special yacht varnish protecting against weather conditions and UV radiation. This is the same top coat product that is use in marine industry. It keeps the wood and the environment completely separate and guarantees a long service life.
Weight
Usually, gravel bikes are a little heavier than road bikes, but not a wooden one. The wooden frame weighs from 4 to 5 kg depending on the frame version. Our equipped Futura bike weighs a total of 11kg. This is especially true if you’re looking for a lightweight gravel bike.
Sold as a frame only
Futura is sold as a frame only, so you will need to equipt it with parts. The pictures show an example set of equipment. Technical specification available by request.

Gravel geometry
Gravel bike with its comfortable frame geometry, beckons riders to embark to long pleasurable on-road and off-road tours. It’s worth noting that geometry is the main difference with this type of bike. The head tube is usually taller while the angle is slicker, making the steering experience more relaxed than a road bike but less responsive than a mountain bike.

About gravel bikes
Gravel Bikes, also known as Adventure Road Bikes.
They are designed to be faster than a mountain bike and more durable than your standard road bike. Gravel bike has now become probably the most universal bike of all.
One bike for everything
You only need one bike to cover the daily commute, your road training, and your off-road fun.

More confidence
Gravel bikes are generally a little longer than road or mountain bikes. This is to improve stability and comfort on all surfaces (on-road and off-road). You’ll also notice that the bikes also have disc brakes as these provide better response and more confidence when you’re off-road.
Many options
The real advantage of the gravel bike is that you can switch the tire and fit much larger wheels and tires, giving you improved grip and comfort on the bumpiest of tracks. In other words, you can turn it into a fat bike. A gravel bike is slower although there is not much difference in the weight of the frame. The main issue is the width of the tyres, larger gravel bike tires create more resistance and slow the bike, compared to a road bike. But, the effect is minimal and you can always fit road wheels.
Go anywhere
These bikes are designed to handle the rough stuff better than road bikes. But they handle the really rough stuff just as well as a mountain bike. You can go anywhere with a gravel bike.
